A series of events in West Cumbria helped to raise more than £1,400 for charity.

Feel the Blues returned after a three-year break, with music events held at the Huntsman in Cockermouth on June 25 and at Maryport Rugby Club the following day.

Donations and raffles from the two events helped to raise £641.04 for the Alzheimer’s Society, with a further £802 raised from an online auction selling a guitar donated by Nick Phillips, friend of Graeme McGrory, one of the organisers.

The raffle prizes were donated by:

  • Cottage Pie, Dearham
  • Huntsman, Cockermouth
  • Main Street Fisheries, Cockermouth
  • Rachel’s Barber Shop, Maryport
  • Trout Hotel, Cockermouth
  • Waverley Hotel, Maryport

A third event was scheduled for Dalton Court on June 25 but was postponed due to coronavirus restrictions.
