A Kendal digital entrepreneur has published a book to help firms get to grips with building their websites.
Andrew Armitage, founder of Kendal agency A Digital, wrote Holistic Website Planning during lockdown.
He said: “It is a guide to helping business owners and marketing managers ensure their next website supports their wider digital transformation, so their website becomes a hard-working business asset rather than just a marketing tool.”
The book focuses on an eight-step method – called Go the Distance – to ensure longevity and a more sustainable approach to building and managing websites.
The book guides business owners to write a detailed website brief and explores the pros and cons of working with independent freelancers or a digital agency.
Andrew said: “The need for businesses to improve the way they adopt digital technology has accelerated rapidly through the pandemic.
“With much of society closed down and huge swathes of the economy working from home, people were forced online not only towards ecommerce, but their everyday social interaction, and this trend is likely to continue for many even as economies around the world recover from the crisis.
“Companies have invested in new cloud-based tools that are easily accessible by remote teams and some business models have changed overnight. Both of these factors present new challenges and opportunities for company websites that in many cases are central to business performance.”
The book is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats.
