Whitehaven coach Gary Charlton has highlighted the contributions made to the Championship performances this season by his southern hemisphere recruits.
Lachlan Walmsley and Nikau Williams have been consistent all season while Ryan King, recovering from a long injury and rehab lay-off, has shown his potential over the last month.
Whitehaven have won four in arow at home and have established a place in the top half of the table, safe from any threat of relegation.
Charlton said: “Nikau has come in and has got better game by game as he gains more confidence.
“He’s just young with plenty to learn but I like the way he wants to do that.
“Lachlan, at full-back or wing, has been exceptional. He knows where the try line is and he has scored some really good tries.
“Ryan has had to be patient because of his rehab from injury but we’ve seen that he is a really good player over the month he has been back in action.
“You don’t really know what you’re getting when you sign overseas players for the first time, even though you do your homework and speak to people.
“But these three have come into the squad with good habits and have brought an intensity to our play.
“To be truthful it’s been good to have them around the place.”
Walmsley and King had both been hoping to push their World Cup places for Scotland and Italy respectively until the tournament was postponed.
The outstanding Walmsley, however, has been linked to a Super League move next season with both Wakefield and Salford said to be interested. He is on a 12-month contract at Haven.
