Holiday traffic is causing long delays across Cumbria as families dash to get away for the bank holiday weekend.
Motorists are facing disruption in the following areas:
- A66 in the area of junction 40 of the M6 – traffic is slow in both directions
- A591 between Cook’s House corner in Windermere to Waterhead – heavy traffic
- A590 in the area of junction 36 of the M6 – slow traffic in both directions
- A590 eastbound after B5277 (Meathop roundabout) – traffic slow
- A590 eastbound before A592 (Newby Bridge roundabout) – congestion is reported to Haverthwaite
