Champions Furness dominated the Cumbria League’s Premier Division averages following their title-winning season.
Club professional Promod Maduwantha topped the batting while four Furness players led the way in the bowling averages.
The 24-year-old Sri Lankan was the leading batsman with a remarkable average of 173.60 from 16 innings of which he was only dismissed five times. He had a highest score of 105 and during the League campaign made eight half centuries.
Maduwantha also finished second in the bowling averages as three other Furness team-mates finished in the top four.
Garry Thompson topped the averages with 26 wickets at a cost of 9.46 each, although he did bowl fewer overs (94.1) than anyone else in the top 20.
Maduwantha had the season’s biggest wicket-haul (38) as he finished on 10.63 and behind him were club captain Peter Lawson (29 wickets at 11.48) and Mark Daly (26, 12.15).
To complete a successful season for the Furness club Nathan Waterston was the leading amateur batsman (630 runs, avge 52.50).
Most runs in the season were scored by the Carlisle professional Mike Slack (912) while the highest score of the season was made by Cockermouth’s vice-captain Alex Grainger (151).
The leading wicket-keeper was Haverigg’s Drew Postlethwaite who had 29 victimes, made-up of 24 catches and five stumpings.
