New Workington Comets signing Drew Kemp claimed the individual honours at the Jay Cartmell Memorial meeting at Northside.
After a difficult Comets debut the previous week, Kemp adapted well to the GT Tyres Arena track and showed his class at the second attempt.
He won the individual final ahead of Comets team-mate Vinnie Foord, with Dan Gilkes finishing third.
Former Comets rider Charles Wright made an impressive return to speedway after being sidelined since a heavy crash in his first meeting of the season.
Wright won all four of his races but withdrew from the individual semi-final after feeling the effects of his comeback in the hot conditions.
He led the Deadfires Demons to victory in the Fours competition.

The Youth Pairs competition was won by Workington’s Laylen Richardson, who partnered Max Broadhurst in the Meteors team. Broadhurst’s father, Wayne, rode for several years, including a spell with the Comets.
Several Scandinavian riders were invited to the meeting as they looked to impress potential British speedway clubs ahead of next season.
Rasmus Pedersen scored nine points and was part of Wright’s winning Deadfires team.
Anton Karlsson and Ludvig Selvin both scored six points, while Victor Larsen finished with three.
Final team scores:
- Deadfires – 30

- Midas – 16
