Workington Reds suffered more injury agony in their comeback win at Glossop North End.
Already missing seven players, full-back Kieran Charlton went down after only eight minutes and had to be helped off the field.
A week earlier, Brad Hubbold had limped off against Northwich, again on eight minutes, as Reds injury agony shows little sign of easing.
Reds are back in action tomorrow night at Warrington Rylands – dangerous mid-week opponents after they won 3-0 at Mossley on Saturday.
It continues to be a numbers game for Reds boss Chris Willcock as he waits for an assessment of Charlton’s injury and wonders whether he will have anybody ready to return for the trip to Warrington.
In addition teenager Keelan Leslie, who filled in at left-back after Charlton’s injury at Glossop, has completed his month’s loan and has returned to Carlisle United.
There is a chance that both Nico Evangelinos and Ruben Jerome will be able to resume on Tuesday, but only starting on the bench.
Both were at Glossop to do some rehab work on the pitch ahead of the game.
Willcock said: “The injury list is still lengthy because we seem to get one or two back and then we get another two set-backs.
“It was good to have Tinners (Conor Tinnion) and Goose (Dan Wordsworth) back at Glossop. I thought they both did well, particularly Conor who helped drive us forward in the second-half and, of course, his two goals were vital.”
Warrington Rylands – who started as a works team back in 1906 – are an ambitious club since Paul Stretford, Wayne Rooney’s agent, got involved in 2016, investing £100,000 on ground improvements.
They currently sit fifth in the NPL West table, seven points behind the Reds but with a game in hand.
