A charity cricket match at Whitehaven helped raise £12,000 for Whitehaven’s West Cumberland Hospital.
The Ged Blaney Memorial competition at the Playground has become a fixture in the Whitehaven cricket club’s calendar.
This year a special sponsored head shave took place alongside the cricket and this helped swell the coffers.
Asa result Lynne Blaney and Kerry Stewart went along to the hospital to present items purchased with the cash.
They were delivered to the Henderson and Loweswater Suites and consisted of care packages, blankets and headphones
Half of the money came from the head-shave, organised by Kerry, which involved her father Ian Halcrow, Leo Sanczuk, Adam McGarry, Simon Chilton and Will Agnew.
