Two women hit on arm by laughing man in Carlisle

Two women were hit on the arm by a laughing man in Carlisle.

Police are investigating two incidents in the area of Victoria Viaduct.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who could identify the man in either incident to come forward.

The first happened on September 21 at about 11am.

The man involved was walking in the opposite direction to the woman, with the man walking in the direction of James Street.

As he walked past the victim he hit her on the arm. As she turned around he was laughing.

The next incident happened on September 23 at about 12.35pm.

The man involved was walking in the opposite direction to the woman and hit her on the arm. He was laughing when she turned around.

In both cases the assaults caused pain.

Both times the man was described as being in his fifties, with missing front teeth. The man was about 6ft tall.
