The independent Cumbria Food Awards is delighted to announce that one of the county’s best known businesses, H&H Group, is supporting the event.

H&H Group, which includes livestock sales business Harrison & Hetherington, is to sponsor the Food Producer of the Year award.

H&H Group operates as a holding company to a group of five trading companies, which provide auctioneering, insurance, estate agency and chartered surveyors, commercial printers and digital services, across the north of England and southern Scotland.

Chief executive Richard Rankin said the Food Producer of the Year award was a good fit for H&H Group.

He added: “We feel closely aligned to food production, as we are part of the journey from field to plate. This is an ideal opportunity to help recognise and showcase the county’s fantastic array of food producers.”

H&H Group, which can trace its heritage back to the 1870s, has its HQ in Carlisle.

The family portfolio of companies, which provides a comprehensive range of services, attributes its success to its people, who consistently go the extra mile for customers.

The new and independent Cumbria Food Awards, in association with headline sponsor Caterite, take place at Kendal College on March 3, 2022.

The event is supported by grocer Booths, Cumbria Crack and patron Simon Rogan.
