The county’s flood risk manager says Keswick is one of the areas that is feeling the most impact of the recent heavy rainfall.
It comes as flood warnings are in place for Keswick Campsite and the River Greta at Keswick, the rugby club and Quinta and an amber weather warning for rain is in force until 11.59pm tomorrow.
Flood alerts are also in force for the Rivers Greta, St Johns Beck and Bassenthwaite Lake and the Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater.

Many rivers in the Keswick area are described as being at a “high” level according to the Environment Agency.
Allerdale Council has informed residents that due to flooding of roads in the Borrowdale valley, bin crews have been unable to get to some properties in the area.
Stagecoach has suspended the 77, 77A and 78 services for the rest of the day due to flooding in Keswick.
Meanwhile, the B5289 Borrowdale Road (between Keswick and Seatoller) is reported to be impassable due to flooding.
“So Keswick drains that central Lake District area and that is where we are getting the heaviest rain, so we will see surface water and disruption around the roads, partly because it’s autumn and sometimes the leaves block the roads,” said Stewart Mounsey, flood risk manager for Cumbria for the Environment Agency.
“What I would encourage people to do is not to drive through that surface water if there are deep puddles, you are likely to lose your car and also then people have to come out and rescue you as well.
“Be really careful around rivers, riverside paths are going to be muddy, slippy, don’t yourself in danger by going close to rivers because they are going to be fast-flowing and they are going to be at high levels.
“I would really encourage people to stay away from rivers over the next three days.”
Mr Mounsey says he expects the area to still be feeling the effects of the storm into the weekend.
He encouraged everyone to sign up for flood alerts to ensure they have the latest information available.
