Keith Hill, the man who lost out to Keith Millen for the Carlisle United job, has taken over at rivals in distress Scunthorpe United.
Bottom of League Two, manager Neil Cox left early this week and Hill has now been installed as his successor.
There is only a point between the two sides at the foot of the table, although both clubs can enjoy a day away from the pressures of League survival tomorrow in the FA Cup.
Hill, 52, a former centre-back with Blackburn, Plymouth and Rochdale has manager Rochdale (twice), home-town Bolton and Tranmere when he was sacked after reaching the play-offs but ahead of the semi-final with Morecambe.
He inherits a side that has only 11 points from 15 games, including a 2-2 draw at Carlisle after they had led 2-0. They entertain Doncaster of League One in the FA Cup tomorrow.
Hill was, at one late stage, favourite to land the Carlisle job but in the end, the board opted to appoint Millen.
Needless to say, Carlisle supporters will be looking keenly at the relevant progress made by both managers in the months ahead.
His last post was at Tranmere, where he led the Wirral club to the playoffs last season but was sacked before their semi-final against Morecambe.
