A man has admitted three offences after cannabis potentially worth £130,000 was found in a vehicle at a South Cumbria motorway service station.
Khoan Van Luu, aged 38, faced three charges when he appeared in the dock at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today.
Luu pleaded guilty to the possession of cannabis, with intent to supply the class B controlled drug to another. He also admitted driving without insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
All of the offences date back to September 24 this year and were committed at the Killington southbound service area, off the M6, between junctions 36 and 37.
Luu is said to have been the driver of the car from which 13kg of cannabis was recovered.
Luu, of no fixed address, spoke only to confirm his identity, date of birth and to enter guilty pleas with the assistance of an interpreter.
Judge Nicholas Barker adjourned the case and ordered the preparation of a probation service pre-sentence report. His barrister, Megan Tollit, said the defendant was anxious for his case to be concluded as soon as possible.
Luu will be sentenced on a date to be fixed and was told by Judge Barker he will remain in custody.
