Let the festive celebrations begin with Cranstons

Your celebration food for Christmas is in safe hands this year with Cranstons.

Despite reports that festive food supplies are at risk, Cumbrian butchers and makers Cranstons are reassuring customers that their celebration food is in safe hands this year – and most importantly they will have plenty of pigs in blankets!

Martin Jones, managing director of Cranstons, said: ‘’Our dedicated teams are aiming to bring customers our best ever festive food range. We are taking orders now for all our usual quality poultry, pies and pastries along with some exciting new lines.

‘’Cranstons’ long standing relationships with farmers, the low food mile nature of our business and the fact our products are made in-house make us less vulnerable to supply chain disruption than the major supermarkets.”

Last year, the Cranstons team hand rolled 70,000 tasty little pigs in blankets and they are planning to do so again.

Cranstons pigs in blankets are made with their own traditional sausages and their award-winning dry cured bacon, both of which are made with locally farmed pork.

Turkey supplies are also safe as Cranstons have long-standing relationships with their trusted poultry farmers.

Each year Cranstons agree how many birds each farm supplier should breed and grow on their behalf so Cranstons’ 2021 birds are guaranteed.

Martin added: ‘’Some of our poultry suppliers are facing labour shortages this year which might mean they are unable to supply the birds fully prepared – but Cranstons’ skilled butchery team are able to do any preparation and presentation work needed.”

Not only that, but Cranstons have produced some new dishes to get your tastebuds tingling over Christmas.
