A former UKIP local chairman and Allerdale councillor has died.
David Wilson, who served as chairman of Ukip until 2017, died last week.
A statement from Aspatria RUFC said: “All at the club were very sad to hear of the death of David Wilson last week. David was a local lad whose career took him down to the Metropolitan Police in London.
“He continued to support the Black Reds throughout and on his retirement he returned back to Cumbria where he served on the General Committee and also as Honorary Club Secretary.
“David will also be remembered for his work in local politics and served as an Allerdale councillor. Our condolences are with David’s family at this sad time. David will be remembered at the next home game against Acklam on Saturday 20th November.”
