Kendal Town boss Warren Beattie was well satisfied with his side’s 0-0 draw at City of Liverpool.
It followed a welcome home win over Market Drayton last Saturday, and a further boost ahead of next week-end’s trip to Widnes.
Beattie said: “I thought it was a fair result against a team who were very well organised and who won’t drop many points at home.
“One of my first objectives was to tighten up the defence so it was especially pleasing to keep a clean sheet.
“We had a couple of chances which we couldn’t manage to take but we were without Ryan Salmon up front and he would have made a difference.
“I’m afraid he has a hamstring problem and might be missing for a couple of weeks. He is such a hard-working player who makes himself a nuisance to opposition defenders he is going to be a miss.”
Beattie feels that if he can add another couple of new faces then the side should be able to start climbing the League.
“I’m hoping that I might be able to get a couple more through the door before we go to Widnes on Saturday,” said the manager.
Kendal remain next to bottom but are just four points behind Prescot, the team immediately above them.
