A country house in north Cumbria has decided to give back this Christmas by supporting two local charities
A regular supporter of CFM Cash for Kids, Blaithwaite Country House Estate in Wigton has donated the sales from their Christmas trees for a number of years and this year has decided to donate the sale proceeds of 10 trees at a total of £350.
In addition to this, the estate is also donating a mountain of toys that will help to ensure each child in Cumbria receives a Christmas present this year.
Alongside this, the estate will be holding an event on December 5 to help raise vital funds for Great North Air Ambulance. The event is free to attend and will include craft stalls, with each stallholder also making a donation to the charity, mulled wine and refreshments. Visitors to the event are being asked to dig deep and make a donation rather than paying an entry fee.
Kate Glen-Donald of Blaithwaite Estate said: “We are long time supporters of both CFM Cash for Kids and Great North Air Ambulance. We really value all the work that they do in the area. The Great North Air Ambulance saves thousands of lives every year and we hope that this small token will go towards helping to save more.
“Christmas is a time to not only treat yourself and your loved ones but also give back. Having had to cancel plans last year due to COVID, we have planned these events to be bigger and better and can’t wait to see everyone return to our estate this festive season so please come and visit and help us to support these brilliant charities.”
