Cumbria County Council has released a list of roads still closed due to the impacts of Storm Arwen.

The following roads are still shut:

West

  • U7003 West side of Thirlmere (Trees) – United Utilities dealing with this
  • Corney fell from A595 to Duddon Bridge – still closed, Electricity North West working to remove trees.

South

A number of roads are closed due to dangerous trees overhanging the highway that teams are working to remove or make safe:

  • Brow Foot, Crook
  • Crook Road, Kendal to Bowness
  • Canny Hill, Newby Bridge
  • Stockghyll Lane, Ambleside
  • Hawkshead to Lakeside
  • Sunhill Lane, Troutbeck
  • Under Loughrigg, Ambleside
  • Brackenghyll Lane, Sedbergh
  • Bowland Bridge
  • Oakbank Farm, Sedbergh
  • Wraysholme Lane, Allithwaite

The council’s highways teams will again be out tonight dealing with any hazards such as damaged trees and we will be treating roads where temperatures are expected to fall below zero particularly in the east of the county and on high ground.
