Boarders at Keswick School have launched an appeal to help families in need this Christmas.
Lairthwaite Boarding House is launching its git and foodbank appeal for South Workington Youth Partnership.
Thabo Mapetla, a year 13 student, said: “The South Workington Youth Partnership’is a charity dedicated to helping children and families in need in our local area.
“They ensure underprivileged children are looked after especially at this time of year, Christmas, where without their help the majority of these children would go without at this time of giving.
“We hope to make a difference to a greater proportion of families in need this year given the circumstances we are in due to COVID-19, with restrictions tightening again due to the Omicron strain of the virus, which in effect can only make their lives more difficult. We need your help, please feel free to donate clothes, games, toys, toiletries and food.”
Due to coronavirus, students are unable to collect donations at their stall at the Christmas Fayre and are asking people If possible to leave all donations in the box in front of the Lairthwaite House or call 017687 72952.
Donations should be given before December 16.
