An investigation has been launched after a person died following a fire in Distington.
Police were called by Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service at 8.54am today (December 4) following the blaze.
One person was confirmed dead inside the property.
Officers are working to confirm their identity and joint enquiries are underway involving police and the fire service.
There are no suspicious circumstances. The coroner has been informed.
