The number of people without electricity in Cumbria following Storm Arwen was down to 86 yesterday, with the multi-agency response continuing to help those affected by power outages.

Electricity North West teams have continued their work, with staff continuing into the night to restore power to properties.

The number without power continues to drop regularly.

The multi-agency Strategic Coordination Group set-up to deal with this major incident continues to meet regularly every day to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those affected.

Teams and volunteers are also working to check on the those without power, providing advice and support.

The coordination group continues to urge people to continue to check on neighbours and people in their community.

People should contact www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it or call 101 if they have concerns about their own safety and well-being, or the safety and well-being of someone they know.

If there is an immediate risk to life people should call 999.

Call Electricity North West on 105. Information on powercuts, including estimated time of restoration, is  at: https://www.enwl.co.uk/powercuts.

Those with second homes in Cumbria who have yet to check on their power supply are also advised to visit when they can.

To report a problem on the county’s roads, please report online via the County Council website –https://www.cumbria.gov.uk/highways

If anyone sees any electricity lines down, please stay well away and call Electricity North West immediately on 105.

People who experience a power cut after their electricity has been restored are asked to wait 30 minutes to allow the changeover to happen and to check trip switches.
