Barrow face another away trip in the FA Cup if they get through next week’s home replay against Ipswich Town.
The Bluebirds were drawn at struggling Championship side Barnsley in the third round draw last night.
It’s not the glamour draw they would have wished for but at least their replay will earn extra cash as it is going to be shown live on ITV on Wednesday, December 15 with no other second-round matches having ended in draws at the weekend.
The BBC and ITV were each scheduled to show a replay live on the Tuesday or Wednesday with the Barrow v Ipswich game now the only game available.
One second round tie was held over until last night and Boreham Wood beat St. Albans to set-up a home tie with AFC Wimbledon.
But what about Carlisle’s conquerors Shrewsbury, drawn against Liverpool at Anfield.
After the 2-1 win at Brunton Park, Shrews’ Cumbrian striker Ryan Bowman, who scored the second goal, said he had never played in front of a big FA Cup crowd during his career.
