Joiner’s Mews

The owners of a holiday cottage business are supporting the Cumbria Food Awards because having good places to eat nearby is a big attraction for their guests.

Peter and Marie Robinson, the owners of Lakes Cottages, are sponsoring the awards to provide a boost to cafés, pubs and restaurants in Cumbria.

The couple, who own cottage accommodation at Heversham, near Milnthorpe, provide their guests with up-to-date information on places to eat, including neighbourhood bistros and Michelin-starred restaurants.

Marie said: “Our guests always want recommendations for where they should dine out while they’re staying with us.

“We know that having excellent places to eat and drink in the area is key to our business, which is why we wanted to support the Cumbria Food Awards. We’re also very happy to back this new event.”

Lakes Cottages runs Joiner’s Mews, a two-bedroom, dog-friendly cottage.

It’s a great place to visit year-round, thanks to its wood burner and summer house, which was built specially for guests to enjoy. They can relax in the summer house whatever the weather.

The cottage has off-road parking, a charging point for electric vehicles and unlimited wifi.

The location is ideal for accessing the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales and Morecambe Bay and is close to attractions including Levens Hall and the Sizergh estate.
