Windermere Fine Art Gallery has unveiled a new end-of-year exhibition, featuring work by some of the UK’s best artists.
These include the latest prize-winners from the highly-acclaimed annual exhibition of the prestigious Royal Institute of Oil Painters, one of the highest accolades in British art.
Artists – now on show at Windermere Fine Art Gallery – from the illustrious Northern Boys painting group exhibiting at the Royal Institute of Oil Painters annual exhibition at the Mall Galleries in London were:
Haidee-Jo Summers ROI, RSMA; Rob Pointon ROI, MAFA; Andrew Farmer ROI; Michael Ashcroft ROI, MAFA; Adam Ralston MAFA; Steven P Smith MAFA and Max White. (ROI shows membership of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, with RSMA depicting Royal Society of Marine Artists and MAFA indicating Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, which dates back to 1859 and ranks L.S. Lowry among its former members).
Award-winners from this group include:
- Max White – ROI Emerging Artist prize winner and third prize in the coveted Winsor & Newton Young Artist Award
- Rob Pointon – winner of the Artist Magazine Award
- Adam Ralston – winner of the Frank Herring Easel Award. He has just been made an associate member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (AROI)
The gallery is also exhibiting work by ROI member Amanda Coleman, winner of the ROI’s Alan Gourley Memorial Award this year.
“We’re delighted to be bringing the award-winning work of all of these nationally-recognised artists to Windermere Fine Art Gallery for a special end-of-year display, which will run for the whole of the holidays,” said owner Matthew Titherington.
He took over the gallery earlier this year with wife Dawn to start luring more art buyers and London-based collectors back to the Lake District for weekends and short breaks.
The new show concludes a milestone year for the new gallery owners and follows the success of exhibitions over the summer and autumn, showcasing work created by leading national artists, such as Haidee-Jo Summers.
