
JJ’s B are looking to secure their maiden title in the Workington Pool League after winning a 10th consecutive game.
They were made to work hard, however, as latest opponents Senhouse battled from 3-0 down with Mark Robertson making it 3-3.
JJ’s B clinical play then secured the win, 6-3 which was capped off by a break clearance from Kevin Forster.
The win maintains JJ’s B’s four point cushion over rivals Vets Club who’s resurgence as league contenders continued with a 7-2 victory over Station Road B.
The Grapes’ title aspirations were dealt a blow at Harrington Legion where home captain Phil Grisdale opened proceedings with a win.
His team-mates followed suit as they raced to an unassailable 5-0 lead.
The Grapes fought back to make the score-line respectable but the 6-3 victory keeps Legion’s hopes of avoiding relegation alive.
JJ’s A’s title defence appears to be over as Station Road D were in dominant mood.
Dan Hancox win gave Station Rd a four frame advantage and despite JJ’s winning the next two frames they couldn’t prevent Station Road reeling off all three doubles to win 7-2.
Packhorse continued their revival as they defeated Station Road C 7-2 which moves them up the league to 7th.
In the B league, Packhorse B and Lifeboat A continued their promotion pushes.
Packhorse B visited the Railway club where they dominated the singles frames and secured a 7-2 win to remain top of the league.
Lifeboat A’s Scott and Brianna Messenger’s singles and doubles wins secured their 5-4 victory which keeps them second but with a game in hand.
Grapes A kept their promotion hopes alive as Frankie Peel and Rodger Denwood secured the points as they defeated Skinny Jimmy’s 6-3.
Lifeboat B came from the brink of defeat as they won all three doubles against Seaton Royal Oak to secure a 5-4 win.
Chasers where unable to get their first win of the season as Miners defeated them 6-3.
