
Two by-elections were held in Allerdale this week.
One was for the Allerdale council ward of Stainburn and Clifton and one was for Broughton Parish Council.
Jimmy Grisdale (Labour) was elected onto Allerdale council with 354 votes. Jacqueline Kirkbride (Conservative) got 294 votes.
Number of votes cast: 651
Number of votes rejected: 3
Turnout: 21.81 per cent
On Broughton Parish Council, Russell John Cockburn (independent) was elected with 200 votes. Neil Richard Rumbold (Conservative) got 99 votes.

Number of votes rejected: 1
Turnout: 21.26%
