Copeland waste collections to continue during bank holidays

Waste collection services in Copeland will continue to operate on all bank holidays except for Boxing Day this year.

Services will continue as normal on Monday, May 2, Thursday, June 2, Friday, June 3, Monday, August 29 and Tuesday, December 27.

In previous years, crews have delayed waste collections during these holidays – this is no longer the case and residents should expect all waste and recycling to be collected as scheduled.

Residents are being encouraged by the council to consult their online collection calendar regularly to ensure all their waste is picked up by crews.

Shirley Procter-Dow, Head of Environment and Community Services for Copeland Borough Council, said: “Keeping to the normal routine through these holidays will be much more convenient for residents, and more efficient for our hard-working crews”.

Collection calendars are available to download online: https://collections-copeland.azurewebsites.net/calendar.html.

Missed collections for scheduled days are reported by the Waste Management crews and are available to view online: https://www.copeland.gov.uk/delayed-recyclingwaste-collections.

Residents may wish to report missed collections to the council at [email protected] or on 01946 598300.
