A Cumbrian couple, whose family has farmed in the county for over 100 years, have launched a wedding business.
Adrian and Sarah Carruthers got married on their farm at Longlands Head, Kikrbride, in a tipi and now, nine years later, other couple can do the same at the Den at Four Acre.
Sarah said: “The idea stemmed from our wedding. We have spent a lot of time researching the wedding industry in general and specifically bespoke venues, looking at the pros and cons, and what was available already. The more we investigated, the more excited we got by the possibilities.

“As standard we offer three giant tipis and one smaller furnished chill out tipi that together seat 150 comfortably, a catering tent, PA system, dance floor, heating, free car parking and accommodation for those who want to stay on site – and lots and lots of fairy lights!”
The couple have already had their first booking – Laura Kennett and Daniel Thompson, of Burgh by Sands, are set to exchange vows next June.

Laura said: “I’ve always wanted a tipi wedding and after Daniel’s romantic proposal on my 30th birthday in February, and setting our wedding date, it just felt like this was meant to be.
“Sarah and Adrian have been fantastic and we’ve more or less got all of the major wedding items booked – I’ve even got my dress – so we’re all organised for a perfect day and we can’t wait. This is a truly fabulous setting and we know it will be a memorable day for us, and our family and friends.”
