Penrith rugby club has been congratulating five of their players who have sampled international representation in the season just ended.

Louie Johnson and Luke Coulston have represented England in the Six Nations Championship at Under-20 and Under-18 level respectively. Both are former Penrith juniors and Emma Campbell represented Scotland Under 18s.

Louie and Luke are now both members of Newcastle Falcons Senior Academy while Emma is currently continuing her education at Bishop Burton college in Yorkshire.

Two of the current first team squad, Jamie McNaughton and Dan Richardson, represented the English Fire Service in Internationals against other National Public Service teams.

A club spokeswoman said: “We at Penrith RUFC are lucky in that we have some men and girls who have managed to attain the peak of their representative career this year

“It is a tremendous achievement for these players and one that the club is justifiably proud of. It is a testament to their effort, determination and commitment.

“Penrith Rugby Club has a proud history of being the pathway for players who have gone on to International honours and we look forward to the next tranche of players, from all levels and all genders, who will follow in their success.”
