Dan Bewley was “pretty happy” with his performance at the speedway Grand Prix in Germany over the weekend.
The Maryport racer finished fifth overall after reaching his second semi-final, although again unable to go on and earn a place in the final.
After the event in Teterow Bewley said: “I felt like we could have gone further but I messed up in the semi-final. All in all, though, I’m pretty happy to get some more race wins and get closer to a final.”
The former Workington Comets rider picked up 12 points for his efforts on a very difficult track and now has 32 from four rounds of this year’s Grand Prix – the first time he has reached that level.
He and Jack Holder – another semi-finalist in Germany – were only brought in as replacements when two Russian riders were ruled-out because of the invasion of Ukraine.
Bewley is currently riding in Poland for champions Wroclaw and in Sweden for Smederna and is unable to ride in the UK.
