Work will start on a new 40-home estate in Whitehaven this summer.
Gleeson Homes has been given planning permission for the development on the former Marchon works in Kells.
The firm said the two-, three- and four-bedroom homes will be high quality and low cost – with prices anticipated to start from £120,000.
Called Saltom Bay Heights, the 3.38 acre plot of land will also include two-bedroom bungalows.
Construction at Saltom Bay Heights is expected to start in late summer and is expected to last until summer 2024. The first homes are anticipated to be released for sale in autumn this year, with the first homeowners expected to move into their homes in spring 2023.
Two affordable homes will also be provided as a part of a discount market value scheme.
The firm has also been given permission for 65 new homes in Aspatria.
