Barrow-born rugby star Jacques O'Neill joined ITV2 show Love Island - and has hinted he wants to win back his ex Gemma Owen.

Jacques, 23, plays for Castleford Tigers, and dated Michael Owen's 19-year-old daughter for 12 months. They broke up last year.

He signed for Castleford in September 2020 and made 12 appearances and scored two tries. He signed a two-year contract with the side last year but a persistent hamstring injury disrupted his season. On Friday, Castleford Tigers released a statement saying they had released him from his contract "to allow him to pursue another opportunity".
