New manager Pete Wild has taken his Bluebirds recruitment to five with two more joining the squad ahead of the new season.
Northern Ireland international Sam McClelland is a centre back who has joined on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The other arrival will be familiar to Barrow fans as striker Richie Bennett first joined the club six years ago.
McClelland, 20, who is said to be highly rated at Chelsea, penned his first professional contract at Stamford Bridge in July 2019, making 16 outings for The Blues’ U18 side that season.
An impressive debut campaign in Chelsea colours saw him promoted to the Development Squad for 2020/21, with the 6ft 3in defender making 11 Premier League 2 appearances.
Coleraine-born McClelland was picked for the Northern Ireland squad for friendlies against Malta and Ukraine in 2021, making his senior international debut against the latter.
Wild said: “Sam comes highly recommended from both club and country and is at the right stage of his career to experience men’s football.
“We are excited to have him as part of the group and help continue his development as a footballer.”
Bennett, 31, has agreed a two-year deal after an undisclosed fee took him from Sutton Utd back to Holker Street.
Bennett first joined Barrow back in May 2016 after a prolific spell at Northwich Victoria where he played a major role in prosperous league and FA Cup campaigns.
Bennett was a shining star in the Barrow side that narrowly missed out on the National League playoffs and 22 goals in all competitions soon drew the attention of some League Two clubs.
In 2017 Carlisle United gave Bennett his first taste of EFL football and in two years he scored 10 goals in 59 appearances.
Spells at Morecambe and Port Vale followed, before Stockport County signed Bennett in March 2020 for an undisclosed fee.
With the arrival of new County boss Simon Rusk, Bennett fell out of favour and was sent out on loan to Hartlepool United in April 2021. Bennett’s stay at Victoria Park was a short one though, as his five goals in just four appearances quickly led to a Stockport recall later that month.
After his departure from Edgeley Park, the Oldham-born forward joined EFL newcomers Sutton United last summer.
He has just enjoyed a successful season at Gander Green Lane, with the U’s achieving an 8th place finish in Sky Bet League Two and were runners-up in the Papa John’s Trophy.
He found the scoresheet six times and registered five assists in 38 appearances for the South London side.
Wild said: “Richie is a player I have known for many years, both personally and professionally. His drive and desire to make the Football League is a massive part of why I am excited to work with him.
“He is an exciting centre forward that will add power and pace to our team and I think we are meeting at the right point in his career.”
He has been allowed to leave Sutton for a fee because he wanted to move his family back north again.
Meanwhile, in the Carabao Cup, Barrow have been drawn away to Blackpool in the first round. The game will be played in the week beginning August 8.
