Man, 39, arrested after Carlisle assault by three people

A man has been arrested after an assault in Carlisle involving four people.

Police are investigating the incident, which took place on Lightfoot Drive on Wednesday at around 8pm.

It was reported than a man was hit and kicked by three others and a van and a scooter or bike may also have been at the scene.

Police are investigating a reported GBH level assault involving four men.

A 39-year-old man, of Carlisle, was arrested on suspicion of attempted GBH. He has been released under investigation.

A man in his 30s was taken to the city’s Cumberland Infirmary and has since been discharged.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area and seen anything suspicious or witnessed the incident, or anyone with CCTV, dashcam or other footage.
