Barrow faded in the second-half to lose their Betfred Championship home game with Halifax Panthers 43-18.
It was a notable performance from the visitors as they had played from the 50th minute with just 11 men.
Afterwards coach Paul Crarey said: “It was obviously a disappointing result for us after we’ve done really well in our recent matches.
“We have to be more of a team, rather than a group of individuals, and learn from nights like these.
“But we will have a rehab session on Wednesday, this game will be put in the bin and we will look to Sunday when we have another tough ask at York.
“Both Halifax and York are top six teams and if we want to be up there with them we have to learn how to improve.”
The Panthers had made a strong start and took the lead after just seven minutes when Ben Tibbs went over in the corner and Joe Keyes added the conversion.
Their lead was doubled on 18 minutes when heavy pressure ended with Ben Cavanagh sliding through for the second try, again converted by Keyes.
Soon afterwards Barrow had their first real set of possession in the Halifax half and Tee Ritson looked a certain scorer when he burst away only to be brought back for an infringement.
But the Raiders did reduce the deficit on 28 minutes when Josh Wood dived over from a play the ball and Jarrod Sammut added the conversion.
There was a hectic finish to the half with James Woodburn-Hall finishing off a third try for Halifax in the 36th minute and almost on the hooter Jarrad Stack strolled over for Barrow and Sammut converted.
At 12-18 Barrow were still very much in the contest but four minutes into the second-half they fell further behind as Brandon Moore dived over near the posts for Keyes to convert.
But the game should have turned in Barrow’s favour when Halifax had Greg Worthington and Tendal Gwaze sent-off, while Barrow’s Hakim Miloudi was sent to the sin bin.
Keyes added to the Halifax lead with a penalty and then Louis Jouffret went over for a fifth Panthers try, converted by Keyes.
When Miloudi returned to the field on 62 minutes to make it 13 against 11 Barrow found themselves 36-12 down as former Whitehaven winger Lachlan Walmsley went over in the corner and Keyes added another conversion.
Sammut went in for a clever solo try on 65 minutes and landed the extras but despite their handicap the Panthere came back again with a try from Matty Gee, converted by Keyes. He even added a field goal soon afterwards to cap a miserable second-half for Carey’s men.
