Lake District mountain one of the most Instagrammable in UK

A new study has revealed a Lake District mountain as one of the most Instagrammable in the UK.

Represent Clothing analysed the Instagram location tags for 50 of the UK’s most well known mountains.

Scafell Pike came third, with over 85,100 tags on the social media platform.

The mountains were equally selected from England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the data was broken down further to find the top three mountains for each area of the UK.

The Lake District came out on top for England with Scafell as the most popular, followed by Helvellyn with 78,700 tags and Blencathra with 26,700 tags on Instagram.

The full list for the UK’s most Instagrammable mountains can be found below.

Snowdon – 168,000 tags

Pen y Fan – 146,000 tags

Scafell Pike – 85,100 tags

Helvellyn – 78,700 tags

Ben Nevis – 35,300 tags

Ben Lomond – 31,700 tags

Buachille Etive Mor – 31,200 tags

Tryfan – 30,400 tags

Blencathra – 26,700  tags

Slieve Binnian – 20,200 tags 

Cairn Gorm – 19,100 tags

The Cobbler – 18,300 tags

Ben Lawers – 15,400 tags

Moel Siabod – 12,500 tags

Whernside – 12,300 tags
