Kendal Town manager Jimmy Marshall is on a player hunt after a third successive NW Counties League defeat.
Chairman Michael O’Neill has given his backing to Marshall’s search for additions to his Parkside Road squad.
“We have no mid-week game and have an FA Cup-tie on Saturday so there’s a break until our next League fixture. Jimmy is looking to strengthen the squad and he has my backing to bring in the players he identifies,” said O’Neill.
Kendal lost 3-1 at home to Wythenshawe Town on Saturday when they appeared to be getting control of the game.
They had conceded a goal on nine minutes to Matthew Bryan but Rob Wilson equalised from the penalty spot just before half-time.
The Mintcakes were on top and looking in control when they lost centre-half Martin Grundy to an injury.
Eight minutes from the end they were caught on the break and Bryan scored his second.
The same thing happened in the fifth minute of stoppage time when with Kendal pushing for an equaliser Wythenshawe broke again and Bryan completed his hat-trick.
Kendal travel to Bishop Auckland on Saturday in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.
