Kendal Town, still looking for their first home win of the season, will get another chance when they host Prestwich Heys.
A disappointing 4-1 home defeat to Northwich Victoria on Saturday left Kendal in 17th place out of the 22-strong North West Counties League’s Premier Division.
The Mintcakes’ six points have come from two away wins and chairman Michael O’Neill is looking for a big improvement at Parkside Road thids time round.
“Saturday’s first-half performance just wasn’t what we expect from a Kendal side. So many volunteers are working hard off the pitch to improve the ground and the supporters’ match day experience.
“That hard work wasn’t matched by the team on the pitch. There was an improvement in the second-half but the game was gone,” he said.
Substitute Brandon Croskill-Robinson did pull one back for Kendal after 61 minutes but the only further goal came two minutes from the end when Liam Martin added the fourth for Victoria.
Kendal were without two of their most experienced players in Rob Wilson and Tom Kilifin and hopefully one or both might be back for the match with Prestwich who lost 2-0 at home to AFC Liverpool on Saturday.
