A pool tournament raised over £8,500 for Eden Valley Hospice and Jigsaw, Cumbria’s Children’s Hospice.
The event was organised by pool fan Catherine Watson, a marketing and interior design consultant based in the Eden Valley.
The event took place in May at Catherine’s home in the Eden Valley, where several keen businesspeople battled it out to be crowned the overall winner.
The final total of £8,585 has now been handed over to Eden Valley Hospice with the funds set to have a direct impact on the specialist care for local adults whilst also supporting families, friends and carers at a time when it is needed most.
Catherine said: “The atmosphere throughout the day was amazing with all the games played in brilliant spirit all for a fantastic cause. It was a pleasure to be able to raise funds for my local hospice and I am so thankful to everyone who joined us to help fundraise.”
The event was sponsored and co-organised by Grafix Signs, based on Kingstown Industrial Estate, Carlisle.
Eleanor Viney, fundraising manager at the hospice, said “On behalf of everyone at Eden Valley Hospice we’d like to say a huge thank you to Catherine and everyone who helped to support the event. The final total is truly incredible and be assured that the money raised has made a real difference to local families going through a very difficult time.”
