Police are appealing for information after a man made off without paying his taxi fare.

The incident occurred on August 17 at around 5.30pm at the Shell petrol station on Penrith Road, Keswick.

A man got a taxi from outside One Stop Shop, Brough, and asked to be dropped off in Keswick. He said he needed to go to a cash machine in order to pay for the taxi fare, however he ran off before withdrawing any money or paying the taxi driver.

The man was around 5ft 11in to 6ft, aged approximately mid to late 20s and was of slim build and had dark brown facial hair. At the time he was wearing a black hoodie with a slogan written on the front, light grey joggers and black trainers.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident number 211 of 17/08/2022 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
