Barrow ended the regular Championship season in fourth place following their 30-20 win at London Broncos.
It was a battle before the south Cumbrians took control with the win allowing county rivals Whitehaven to finish the season above the Broncos in tenth place.
Coach Paul Crarey said: “We are looking forward to the play-offs now after a very successful season for the club. The pundits had us written off before the start of the season, predicting we would go straight back down so it’s very satisfying to finish fourth in a very competitive Championship.”
After leading 14-6 at half-time Barrow found themselves trailing 16-14 after 53 minutes when the Broncos grabbed the initiative with two converted tries.
It took a Tee Ritson special, racing clear down the touchline to score and then Ryan Shaw added the conversion to edge back in front.
Shaw pounced on a loose ball to score a try soon afterward and added the conversion. Then on 69 minutes Jarrod Sammut threw out a pass for Ritson to go over for his 100th career try with Shaw’s conversion attempt coming back off the sticks.
Six minutes from the end Broncos scored an unconverted try, but could get no nearer.
Earlier in the game Anton Iaria and Charlie Emslie both scored tries, converted by Shaw who also added a penalty.
