Aspatria were the only Cumbrian club to miss out on a game on Saturday after rugby union was given the go-ahead to play.
Opponents Stockton took advantage of RFU guidance that permitted clubs to postpone games if they wished under the circumstances of the Queen’s death last Thursday.
In fact across the whole of the Northern Division the game at Bower Park was one of only four to be postponed.
In Regional 2 North East two games were called off – Dronfield v Selby and Morley v Pocklington while in Counties 4 Yorkshire also off was Stocksbridge v Hornsea.
The game will now have to be played on the first available free Saturday which looks like October 8.
That’s the date set aside by the Cumbria RU for the semi-finals of the County Cup but Aspatria were knocked out by Upper Eden in the quarter finals.
Aspatria, who lost their opening game last week 31-19 at home to Middlesbrough, will resume on Saturday at Northern who ominously won at Middlesbrough this week-end.
