A Carlisle shopping centre is set to continue championing small businesses this winter.

The Lanes will be welcoming a string of small businesses to the high street in through their nearly two-year-old pop up shop, run by retail property consultants Barker Proudlove.

The winter line up includes Cumbrian businesses Quirky Eclectica, Spot and Bear Interiors, JK Photography, Heathers Hands, Acantha Crystals, Jos Little People,
Hello Personal, Luna Amatores, Fairy Sawdust and Manor Barn Organics.

Jessica Swain, from Barker Proudlove who helped set up the pop up shop said: “As we see the space almost 2 years on, it is fantastic to see the pop
up shop so heavily in demand. We always hoped to bring a real range of businesses to the city centre and to see new faces still getting involved is amazing.

“We hope the customers of Carlisle will vote with their money this Christmas in particular and decide to shop locally here in Carlisle and add an independent purchase into their Christmas shopping. For all they know, their support could mean that some of these independents decide to take a chance on the high street permanently by 2023.”

Each business is given a prime retail unit in the centre of the city at an affordable weekly price. Since it’s launch, the concept has successfully brought a number of small businesses to Carlisle shoppers.
