Kendal Town have signed an in-form goal-scorer ahead of tonight’s home game against Charnock Richard.
Nick Hepple has bagged 15 goals already this season for Poulton in the West Lancashire League’s Premier Division.
Hepple played briefly for the Mintcakes last season and he has rejoined them on dual registration from Poulton.
But chairman Michael O’Neill said: “Although we have signed Nick, a very good forward, it’s not certain how many games he will be able to play.
“He has a lot of work commitments and doesn’t play as much as he would like which is why he’s been at West Lancashire League when he’s capable of playing higher.”
Kendal are going into the game on the back of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Lower Breck when they conceded the only goal of the game five minutes from time.
Charnock Richard have the same number of points (9) as Kendal but from a game less and they are currently a place higher (16th) through a better goal difference.
They put up a game effort at second-in-the-table Avro on Saturday when they lost 2-1.
O’Neill said: “There wasn’t a lot of quality in the final third from either side on Saturday but it was a bit of hesitation late in the game on our part which gifted them the points.
“We have an injury problem at the moment in that three centre-backs are struggling and I don’t know how we will be fixed tonight.”
