When a West Cumbrian dog groomer was asked to help beautify a lamb – she thought the owner was joking.
But the baa-rmy request of The Dog Barber Boutique couldn’t have been more serious.
Megan Tinnion, who runs the Seascale grooming parlour, was messaged by Richard Mawson, who owns the Lion & the Lamb pub, asking if she would groom his pet lamb Fluffy like a poodle.
Megan, 28, said: “I thought he was joking so I was shocked when he walked through the door with her. It turned out Richard wanted Fluffy looking her best for the karaoke night he was holding at his pub.

“One thing I will say is how shocked I was at how well behaved she was and it wasn’t because she was scared she didn’t have a care in the world. The only time she made a noise was when Richard left the room, which in itself was lovely to see the connection asĀ it was like when a lamb loses her mother in a field.”
Megan opened the boutique in April last year. She has been working at other groomers, helping her mum since she was nine and has looked after hundreds of dogs – but said this was the first time she had ever been asked to look after a sheep.

She added: “When we say we will try anything at least once we mean it! I can’t really put in to words how different it was grooming Fluffy to a dog as every dog I groom is different. Every dog I groom has a different personality with different needs and care but Fluffy was certainly the most well-behaved animal that has ever entered the boutique!

“It made my day when Fluffy went trotting out the shop following Richard and to top it off the passing people’s faces were priceless. I just want to know if the lion will be coming into the boutique next!”
