Workington Town have re-signed popular forward Jordan Thomson for the 2023 season.
Thomson has proved a hard-working, dependable forward for Town despite their poor showing in the Championship this season.
Not one of the biggest forwards around, his sheer determination and effort have made him a respected member of the squad.
As he builds his squad for life in League One new coach Anthony Murray will have been led by the opinions of new director of rugby Gary Murdock and their views are likely to match-up on the attributes of “Tomposh.”
Thomson had been a hard-working member of the Hensingham pack for a number of years before he signed for home town club Whitehaven.
He came through the Cumbrian Player Pathway for the most talented community game players, and after a short stint in the pro ranks at Whitehaven he linked-up with Kells.
From there he joined Town for the 2021 season where he played a part in the club’s promotion to the Championship.
He actually signed for Town at the same time as Matty Henson from Egremont and he has also just re-signed for the Derwent Park club.
They join the returning Ciaran Walker as Town look to gradually increase their squad over the next few weeks.
