Two women were punched in the face by a man in an unprovoked attack in the early hours of Sunday – while people recorded it on their phones.

The women, one in her 40s and one in her 50s, were walking on Glebe Road in Bowness on Windermere at around 3am.

They were walking from the Wheelhouse and were approached by a man who punched both in the face. Both women suffered minor facial injuries.

The man is believed to be in his mid-20s with short blond hair and was of a slim build.

Police are looking for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the assault and also anyone who has mobile phone footage as it is believed there may have been people recording the incident on their phones.

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it quoting incident number 44 of 02/10/22 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
