Veteran Barrow Raiders hooker Nathan Mossop has agreed a new one-year deal at the club.
Long-serving Mossop, 34, will enter his 13th season with the Raiders, having made his debut back in March 2009.
He has gone on to make over 250 appearances for the club, and was also granted a 12-month testimonial by the RFL at the beginning of the year.
Mossop made 29 appearances last season, proving to be a consistent performer for Paul Crarey’s side as they reached the Betfred Championship play-offs in their first season back in the second tier.
Mossop said: “Firstly, I’d just like to thank Steve Neale, Andy Gaffney, Paul Crarey and the club for giving me the opportunity to go around again next year.
“Barrow is a club on the up, and there are some amazing people behind the scenes working extremely hard to help the club be a success, both on and off the field.
“I’m looking forward to the season ahead, and I’m hoping we as a club can kick on from last year’s successful season.”
As well as serving Barrow so well with over 250 appearances, Mossop played 20 games in 2012 for South Wales Scorpions and scored 15 tries.
He was an ever-present when Barrow won the League One title in 2021.
Barrow Raiders chairman Steve Neale said: “Nathan has been an astute performer for us over a number of years now, and this new deal is testament to his importance within the squad.
“His experience was invaluable for us last season, and with Connor Saunders signing professional terms with us last week, it makes perfect sense for him to learn off one of the most dependable players at this level.”
Director of rugby Andy Gaffney added: “Nathan is a fantastic player to have at the club, both on and off the field.
“He played really well last season and I am pleased that he is going around again.
“He looks after himself and also brings a lot of experience and knowledge, which the younger players in the squad can feed off.”
