Youngsters from a West Cumbrian primary school visited a metal recycling facility and created posters to help keep workers safe.
Pupils from Dean Primary School were invited to Cyclife at Lillyhall.
The aim of the trip was to educate the children on safety, recycling, and how the work performed at Cyclife supports the UK transition to a low/zero carbon society.
The children were also given a presentation on how important it is that the workers on the shop floor keep their hands safe, and the ways in which hand injuries may occur at Cyclife.
The children were then given the task of creating Hand Safety posters to remind the staff at Cyclife how important it is to keep their hands safe at all times.

Kevin Dodd, Cyclife’s safety director, said “The children showed great enthusiasm and we were impressed by their amazing knowledge on recycling.
“It was great to see the pupils getting involved in conversations about their own experiences of hand injuries and the knock-on effects that they caused, such as pulling the zips up on their coats.”
