Cleator Moor Celtic emerged 6-3 winners in a very good West Cumbria Youth League Under-18s game with Bransty Rangers.
The conditions were poor with rain making control difficult and two competitive teams deserve a lot of credit for seeing it through.
Despite the wet weather they both produced some good constructive football but Celtic were more clinical in their finishing.
Team errors and 50-50 decision which didn’t go their way probably cost battling Bransty in the end.
The goals for Celtic came from Ben McCarron (2, 1 pen), Luke Brennan (2), Ethan Thornton (pen) and Lewis Selkirk.
Bransty replied through Callum Wilson, Spike Canavan and Keelan McKeown.
